"Pissing out the front door while driving is simple and easy."
Age: 20
Nationality: Australian
Why are you travelling? Check out what's out there, become independent, and work out who I am and what I want to do.
Hot or Not? Babe.
What are your talents? I'm good at chilling, cooking and collecting dinner.
I started travelling on the bus on 14/4/17 - current.
How did you get on board? While doing a Workaway in Chile, I met Nadine and she, out of the blue decided to buy a bus. So I helped in the cleaning of the bus and then I decided to follow wherever my travels took me and that happened to be with the bus and travelling back up through South America.
First impression of the Yellow Submarine With Wheels? Epic, I was super interested in someone I just met buying something cool and keen to help in the construction.
Did it live up to its name/reputation? We gave it its reputation – biased.
What was the biggest challenge that surprised you about bus life? Mechanics, seeing as I didn't know anything, it was challenging breaking down and not being able to help. It's a very small space, especially when we have had six people on the bus, and it's hard to keep all our stuff clean and tidy.
Tell us where & how many different places you slept on the bus. Everywhere. Sofa, floor, bunk beds, tent and hammock.

Since we don’t have a bathroom, where was your favourite bathroom location? Pissing out the front door while driving is simple and easy.
What did you sacrifice or gave up during your bus stay? Privacy, solo travelling- we have now created a family to travel with :)
What did you contribute to bus life? Mechanical help- a little, better food, beers, coconuts, cooking utensils, surfing inspiration.
Best bus travel tip? Learn how to piss in public discretely.
What was your favourite bus meal/drink? Beer and birthday food is always epic!
What food/recipe did you learn to cook with us? Lots of mangoes, meat and coconuts.
Your favourite feature of the bus? My bed.
Let's talk about bus breakdowns. Tell us in detail about one experience. Well, well, well, where to start, eh? So, one time we were cruising down the highway. We were all good. The driver (Nadine) & the expert navigator (Barney) trying to get to the city for Leve’s birthday. Nadine decides we are on the wrong road and tries to do a U-turn. Then, as we are turning around, we break down! Leaving us in the perfect location for a T- bone and blocking the highway for about one and 1/2 hour. Luckily we fixed it and continued.
How was it fixed and what you thought at the time? Fixed by expert navigator (Barney) - there's a first for everything.
In 10 years, I will remember: Dunno because it hasn't been ten years yet, but most likely the people, places and things experienced with the bus crew.
If you could relive an experience with the bus it would be? I don't want to relive any of them only want to keep making new ones.
Asleep on sofa In Montanita, Ecuador Second longest bus member
Anything we should have/do MORE or LESS of? Some more sustainable equipment and maybe something we can do/make with rubbish we collect from our "Clean up the Caribbean" campaign.
How do we compare with travelling by public transportation and staying in hostels? Buslife is cheaper but more of an adventure. More stressful at times, but we are a lot tighter and more like a family rather than travelling solo.
So you had what it took and you survived. Would you recommend buslife to others? Eh yeah, Nah, Nah, just kidding! Defiantly would recommend it, but you have to be out there, patient and chilled out and up for anything.
Any advice for us? Get a real job, hehe, not really, ay.
When we drive our wheels into Canada, what will you do? Well, we will see what happens - if we make it, definitely share a nice beer at an epic location and celebrate with a feast.
