Less is more, and living on the bus is just what most of us truly need.
Alicia inside the bus on New Years Eve
Age: 31
Nationality: French
Why were you travelling? I was travelling in Central America and came down to meet Nadine and her crew in the Yellow Submarine with wheels.
Hot or Not? Bloody Hot
What are your talents? Cooking, drawing, chilling.
I started travelling on the bus from 29/12/2017 – 18/01/2018
How did you get on board? I came to see Nadine again after our first meeting while living in Australia. I was in Panama with my friend Mel and we decided to catch a flight to spend new year’s eve in Ecuador with Yellow Submarine‘s crew!
First impression of the Submarine With Wheels? So fucking cool!
Did it live up to its name/reputation? More than I excepted!
What was the biggest challenge that surprised you about buslife? Probably to live between 6 and 8 people in a bus!
If you could relive an experience with the bus it would be? Making the biggest “Pain perdu with chocolate sauce” (Typical French dish – aka. French toast) after a surf session with everyone.
Where did you travel by bus? We spent the entire time in Montanita, Ecuador. Life was so good! Our stop was short but good enough to enjoy with everyone in that town.
Your favourite bathroom location? Beach!!!!
What did you sacrifice or gave up during your bus stay? My phone definitely not a sacrifice!
What did you contribute to bus life? Cooking, cleaning, making some handcrafted things, and found some good cheap treats ;)

Your favourite feature of the bus? The kitchen set up, and all the handmade cook utensils. And the massive good vibration/energy and all the good chats with everyone. Also, my bed was so comfortable and private.
What was your favourite bus meal/drink? Everything was a feast! Every day we had such good meals made by everyone, with a generous amount of fresh local veggies and fruits for ridiculously cheap prices!! My favourite meal was the last dinner we made with our neighbours and drinking cocktails. I can't say what it was, ask my friend Mel she’s an awesome Chef!
What food/recipe did you learn to cook with us? Flatbread, amazing popcorn and mango sticky rice.
In 10 years, I will look back and remember: To be able to share Nadine’s journey a bit in a completely different country, culture, and lifestyle. And be inspired by such a woman!
Anything we should have/do MORE or LESS of? Less is more, and living on the bus is what most of us truly need.
Anything you want to tell us? Big big thank you to everyone, I miss you guys and love you all!!!! And please keep going your journey as you do. You rock!!!
How do we compare with travelling by public transportation and staying in hostels? The experience is so much fun and completely different. You get out of your comfort zone. You feel free when you travel but way more when you travel/stay/live in a private bus with so many legends.
So you had what it took and you survived. Would you recommend it to others? The only thing you would regret is not doing it! So go, guys!!!!
Any advice for us? Get some solar panels. But other than that, I can't say anything else. Seriously, you made it. Keep going on with your journey and the Bus! HOW GOOD IS THIS!!!!!
When we drive our wheels into Canada, what will you do? I’ll come to meet you ;)
